Biography

On the 7th of January I was born in Goes (a small town in the south of holland). When I was about 7 years old I got my very first drumlesson from my uncle and since then I was hooked on the drums. After some lessons with my uncle I started playing snare drum with the local drum band and shortly after that began studying classical percussion and drums at the local music school.
Beginning first with only snare drum and timpani and later on moving more and more towards playing the drumset.
It was at this time that I also had some lessons on the xylophone and also got interested in playing the vibraphone.

After spending my childhood in my parents basement studying, I figured it was time to get serious. At the age of eighteen I entered the preliminary year of the Conservatory of Amsterdam and a year later I started studying full time in Amsterdam.
In the 3rd year of the Conservatory I also started playing vibraphone. I then graduated for my bachelor degree in 2003 and was admitted to the post graduate course. In 2006 I graduated for the master's degree, and now I'm playing in a lot of different settings on drums and on vibes...
